Influence of "Older" Women

Friday night, Niamh, Imogen, and Rich were over after dinner to hang out a bit. Jack, as usual, was completely enamored with Niamh and imitated many of the things that Niamh did. He brushed his teeth like never before because Niamh asked him to. He sat on the couch with his blankie and watched a cartoon. (I've never seen him sit still for so long). And he ate popcorn - lots and lots of popcorn. It was classic. Comfy on the couch Having a blast with his goofy laugh Popcorn!

Stroll in the Park

Enjoying one of the few warm days we've had this Spring.

Big boy!

New Words

Jack has added several new words to his vocabulary. The list below includes a few highlights. "I know" - pronounced as a single word "Iknow" and usually repeated - source: Mom. Justin swears Jack says this with a Southern accent! "I'm done" - pronounced "I dun" in repetition - source: Mom. "Button" - Jack carefully pronounces the t's and both syllables. source: multiple, but mainly the big buttons on my coat. "Pee pee" - pronounced enthusiastically anytime he walks past a bathroom or sees anyone go into the bathroom. (no secrets in this house). source: he figured this one out on his own! His "I know" is precious. Hopefully, I can capture it on video before he changes it or moves on to another word.

Trampoline

Jack attends a gym class each Friday. The kids have free reign of the gym at the beginning of each class. Last Friday, Jack and his good friend Jake took over the trampoline. Jack loves to run on it, but hasn't quite figured out how to jump. I keep telling him to bend his knees - instead, he bounces with legs as stiff as boards! Quick video of the trampoline fun:

18 months

Jack turned 18 months last Saturday. He's turning into the quite the little boy and is well beyond being our baby boy. So Jack - what have you learned to do in the last 18 months? Beyond the necessary sit up, eat, and walk - there are a few fun ones. 1. Starting to use a fork and spoon. You like the idea, but haven't grasped the concept/technique of picking up food. You'll get there (especially if Mommy chills and lets you make more of a mess). 2. You love your books. We have created "Jack's library" on one of the window sills in your room. You love to run in there, grab a book, and bring it to me or Daddy to read. 3. Putting things away. Even better than getting your own books, you're starting to understand putting them away. It doesn't work every time, but we'll celebrate success. 4. Puzzles. You receive a few of these for Christmas. At first, you had no idea what to do with them after dumping all the pieces. Now, you know exactly where...

Little Sister? Little Brother?

This morning, we had the anatomy scan for baby on the way. Everything looks good and appears to be developing normally. To continue to buck popular trend, we decided not to find out the gender. Hey - we'll know in a 4.5 months right? If we can handle the suspense, so can you! ;) Profile shot:   A few other shots here .
