10 Days?

We are 10 days away from the baby's due date. I'm officially on maternity leave. This is my third work day of non-work. As expected, I have bursts of productivity surrounded by larger spans of lolly-gagging. :) That being said, we've wrapped up several things recently: organized the nursery (I will post pictures) finished up some shopping (this is what I obsess about) purchased a new camera (that I will use for said nursery pictures) started packing my hospital bag and a few other things There are a couple of pools in place for when this little one will arrive. Good luck to you all - however, I hope that any of you with due dates over a week late are way off!! :) Nursery pictures to come.

Final Shower

In true Jenn and Justin style, we were graced with three separate baby showers - one in NC with my family, one in Atlanta with our friends there, and the last one in Massachusetts with Justin's family and our friends there. The last shower was held on June 20 th at Linda and Billy's house. It ended up being a beautiful weekend - cool temps and not as much rain. The shower itself was a lot of fun. Linda, Cristine, and Patty were the organizers. As expected, the food and desserts were delicious and the decorations and games were a ton of fun. We got to see a lot of folks that we haven't seen in several years - some since our wedding! The guys hung around for a bit, and then jetted before it got to girlie! Thanks to everyone who attended - it was great to see you all. Thanks also for the wonderful gifts - I think we're more or less "ready" for the baby. I have a few pictures and will hopefully post a couple of others soon. Me, Uncle West, Aunt Wei-Chung, My Mom

Flowers

Yesterday, July 13th, was our 7th wedding anniversary. We look back at that Saturday in Chapel Hill as one of the best days of our life together! This year, Justin and I spent our anniversary on separate coasts - funny how we make big plans for the 1st couple of anniversaries. Then, a few years later, you end up apart. :) This is Justin's last big trip before the baby arrives. He'll be on travel lockdown from this point forward. Though he wasn't in NYC, he did have flowers delivered. It is a beautiful arrangement of lilies that smell lovely. I've included a picture.

Making himself at Home

The furniture for the nursery arrived yesterday. Syd has already claimed his spot. I'll post more photos once we have the room sorted. Adding one more from yesterday. Syd is ready for the first stroll around the neighborhood.

Sunday Afternoon in the Park

Could be a well known play, but in this case, it's the new Yankee Stadium. I picked up tickets Thursday afternoon for today's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. This is the first game we've been to at the new stadium. The new stadium is very nice - much more in line with other new stadiums. There is a lot more space in the walkways - more food options - and much better bathrooms! The latter being most important to me right now. Our tickets were in left field in the upper deck. All in all, decent seats - but the sun made them a bit unbearable. The game started off slow - I mean slow. The first two innings took almost 2 hours. We were roasting in the sun! Eventually, we decided to walk around to check out the rest of the stadium and get out of the sun. The game got much better after we starting moving. Eventually, we ended up on the first level watching the game from the walkway. The pregnancy bump paid off, because one of the ushers in this area let us sit down in the shade

Afternoon Excitement

Yesterday afternoon (July 2nd), a set of manhole covers were literally blown off on 70th St. (my street). Apparently, the first one had such force that it ripped through the front end of an SUV which led to the car catching fire. I heard the first blast - it was loud, much louder than what we typically here. It was quickly followed by many sirens. When I finally went downstairs, 70th was shut down and firefighters were everywhere. In the end, several manholes exploded, but I don't think there was much other damage and no one was hurt. Never a dull moment...

Vienna Sausages

My toes look like little Vienna Sausages. Not much more to say.
