Peas & Sleep

Peas and sleep may not be a common combination, but they seem to work for Jack. First peas - We introduced peas on Saturday. I had heard that peas are generally tough. Jack surprised us by gobbling them up. Justin and I have decided that he is probably going to eat most everything we put in front of him. Next up is bananas...yum yum. Next sleep. Jack has been sleeping 9-10 hours in a row after recovering from his cold. Last night, he slept for almost 11 hours (7:45 pm - 6:15). We woke up this morning stunned that it was after 6 am. Is it the peas? Or just that Jack is growing up? Either way, we are more than thrilled to be getting more sleep! Separately, Jack rolled over onto his belly by himself yesterday evening. I don't think it's the first time that he's done this, but it's the first time I've seen it. So proud!!

Solid Foods

Our pediatrician suggested that we start trying solid foods with Jack at his 4-month check-in. I dutifully bought some rice cereal - well, organic brown rice cereal. I've heard that this stuff tastes like cardboard, but Jack didn't seem to mind. More pictures here . We've now added sweet potatoes to the repertoire and are trying peas tomorrow. I've heard that peas are usually not a hit so wish us luck.

Holiday Recap

It's only January 22nd - as good a day as ever for posting about our holidays. You probably saw the Merry Christmas post already. We stayed here in NYC for Christmas itself. Then we headed to North Carolina to see my family for a bit. The visit was great for a couple of reasons. 1. Jack brings out a new level of happiness in everyone. I think it's his full face, holding nothing back smile. 2. The weather was nice. We were able to go running a couple of days. 3. Jack slept great! After his 4-month freak out, he settled into a good nap and night routine. I've included a few pictures from the trip. More are available in the December album (see the link on the left side).
