First snow, Basketball, and more snow

We got out a bit yesterday to enjoy our first snow of the season. We headed to Central Park and found just enough snow to have some fun. The sun peaked through for just a few minutes right at sunset. This picture doesn't begin to capture the pinks and purples in the sky. Now for basketball...Sunday we all headed down to the Village for the University of Chicago vs. NYU basketball game. The game was fun - tightly contested first half, then NYU took the lead for good with about 11 minutes to go in the 2nd. We saw lots of 3-pointers (and lots of questionable fouls). All in all lots of fun. I also learned that not all college games have official timeouts.... Now the more snow part. We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of Winter Storm Juno. After the game today, Jack and I ran all over the Upper Westside looking for snow pants for him. I'm happy to say we found something. Now the boys will be ready to play in what I hope will be a good amou

The card that wasn't

Over Thanksgiving, we had a family photos taken. The photographer, Heather McGinnis , was great. We're very happy with the results. The getting there was not so great. Spence decided that he did not want to participate. He basically cried, whined, and frowned the entire time. This image captured the actual experience (and if I had a real sense of humor, would have been our holiday card). Be sure to zoom in on Spence to see his expression. Even with Spence's being a grumpy bumpkin, the pictures turned out great. Check them out here .

Graciousness

While opening gifts at Miami and Poppie's, Spencer got to the last gift. It was box shaped. Spencer's comment was "I hope it's not shoes". Seriously. Of course if they were light up shoes it could be a different story.
