Bump

Regardless of what Justin says, I know that I have a bump. Albeit a small one. I've taken pictures every Thursday for the past 3 weeks. I realized that we should have thought through the pictures more, because I'm not 100% comfortable posting for the world to see. This week's picture will be different - more family friendly (which makes my other pictures seem adultish - they aren't).

My clothes are starting to get tight - especially my pants. Fortunately, most of my jeans have low rises - so they still fit. The bum is the only area getting tighter. :(  I'm fighting the butt expansion as much as I can - within reason. I also ordered a few things from a maternity designer that came in last week. They are cute and will give me good, stylish basics once I'm big enough...probably a couple more weeks.

So far, I've gained about 3 pounds - which I think is ok. next trimester will be a different story - lots more weight. The baby will make up a lot of this - at least I hope so!

Tomorrow is my nuchal scan. This scan measures the back of the neck and the nose bridge and is used as an initial screen for certain genetic diseases. It's a bit nerve wracking. We're hopeful that everything is going to be fine. Obviously more on that later.

The other big news is that I'm planning on telling my team at work that I'm pregnant. I can join the legions of others that are pregnant at work. Should be interesting. I'll be happy to not feel like I need to check what I say and to share what I'm experiencing.

School Projects

Jack has a school project due this Friday. The project is to visit a specific historic landmark in the city and then put together a write-up about the visit and place. Jack's location is Hamilton Grange which was the country home of Alexander Hamilton. We visited a few weeks ago (yep, we've have the assignment this long). Finally, Jack started putting together the project today. OMG, it was like watching me from 30 years ago. There was denial and defensiveness, then came tears and finally he produced really good work. If this is what the next 15 years are going to be like, we are in trouble. Also - sorry Mom, I know I tortured you with this experience many many times.
