Greensboro Visit

Last weekend, Justin and I went to Greensboro to see my family and for the baby shower that my mom was throwing. In true J & J style, we flew separate airlines and landed about 4 hours apart even though we were traveling from NYC to GSO. We like to keep things interesting. Greensboro was great. Mom did a great job with the shower. I had such a good time with everyone that attended! It was great to catch up and share this experience. Plus, I got lots of good advice and we shared several funny stories (particularly about Justin!). The gifts get us well underway in preparing for the baby. I can't wait to set up the nursery and display the books, toys, blankets, and other cute items we received. I've included a few pictures - more to come soon! A big thanks to everyone for making the afternoon so fun and special! Laurie Juarez & Ella Jenni Newkirk Aunt Kitty, Grandma Dot,  Linda Land, & Mom Mom and Dad To Be An Action Shot

Little Dipper

The last couple of weeks have seen lots of changes to our condo. We had crown molding and new radiator covers installed. You'd think this is pretty straight forward. Apparently, it's not. The guys doing this work moved all of the furniture in each room into the center of the room and then covered it with plastic to limit the dust. The first few days, we lived in our bedroom and the kitchen. Everything else was a mess. This week, our bedroom has been the work zone. We relocated to the 2 nd bedroom which is funny only because we ended up sleeping in twin beds. The work isn't quite done; however, it looks really good. It's a nice finish to the unit. Along the way, the 2 nd bedroom was painted a yellow - Benjamin Moore's Little Dipper. This is the first step in the conversion to a nursery. So far, so good. I'll post pictures after this weekend.

Latest Scan

I had a follow up scan last Thursday. These pictures are the best from that appointment. The tech was all business, so they aren't the greatest. You can see that the baby is growing. From measurements taken during the scan, the baby is estimated to weigh 2 lbs 6 oz. The baby has almost tripled in size in the last month!! Fortunately, the weight estimate is in-line with the gestational age. Today, I had a regular doctor's appointment. Again, everything is fine. My weight is also on track which is good. During this appointment, I had the glucose tolerance test. This test involves drinking a very sugary drink (mine was like uncarbonated , syrupy sunkist - kind of gross). Then you wait an hour and have blood taken for analysis to see how well your body processes sugar. Hopefully, results come back fine - otherwise, there's a follow on test that takes three hours and multiple servings of yucky sunkist . The craziest thing about this appointment was that I had to complete pre -r
