In Central Park

This morning we tested Jack and brunch. We went to one of our favorite brunch spots on the UWS - Cafe Ronda - and got a table outside. This set-up worked perfectly because it wasn't too crowded or noisy. Jack could hang in his stroller while we ate. He was good - slept the whole meal. Afterward we headed to Central Park to sit, enjoy the beautiful weather, and people watch. This picture is Daddy feeding Jack.

Grandparents Visit

Last weekend (Aug. 14-17), Jack's paternal grandparents, Linda and Billy, came down from Massachusetts to meet Jack. We were quite excited that they were able to visit so quickly after Jack's birth. Everyone got in great bonding time.

Jack is ready for the gun show, are you?

Meet Jack

Jack Nathan MacFarlane made his roaring entrance at 5:48 pm, August 12th. He's a big, beautiful boy weighing 8 lbs. 9 oz and 21 inches long. By himself, he looks normal sized to me. Next to other babies, he's a big one! Justin and I are doing great - learning lots and lots of new things every hour - from swaddling and feeding to changing and burping. We're definitely on a steep learning curve! We head home from the hospital today which is the next big adventure! Justin's parents are also driving down from Massachusetts. Jack will meet another set of Grandparents - let the spoiling begin!!! I've posted some pictures at this link: http://picasaweb.google.com/cassell319/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCKDtsbPZ06aFDQ# We will update this album over time with new pictures. Thanks for all the Congratulations!! We're so happy that he's here!

Nursery Pictures!

At long last, I am posting pictures of the nursery. I was waiting to have something on the walls before posting these. Without the pictures and cards, the nursery looked pretty bare. Summer in the City

Summer has finally arrived in NYC. We've had a mix of sunny, warm days and rainy, muggy days over the last week. This Saturday (Aug. 1st) was a warm, sunny day - but slightly humid. We took advantage of the weather by meeting several friends in Sheep Meadow in Central Park. For those that are unfamiliar with Central Park, Sheep Meadow is in the lower third, stretching between 66 th and 69 th streets on the west side ( more details here ). This is what Justin and I consider our outdoor space in the city - we just happen to share with thousands of our closest friends! Anyway, we found a good shady spot and were joined by Chat, Nina, Ketun , and Naya (7 month old twins) Sarah Goulding Phil and Ylang (with baby on the way - due mid-December) Lisa, Rich, and Niamh (almost 2) Judy (Jenn's Mom) We shared great snacks, enjoyed the weather, and more importantly, had a great time catching up some friends. Pictures are below. Chat, chillin ' Sarah, enjoying one of Phil's deli
