Big Healthy Boy

Yesterday, Jack had his 2-month check up at the doctors. I wasn't looking forward to this one as Jack received his first vaccinations.

Everything went as well as can be expected. Jack has grown a ton - new stats are below. He made it through the vaccinations pretty well. He received three shots, 2 in the left thigh and 1 in the right, and one oral dose. The one in the right was the most painful. His little face got a big look of shock/terror. Good or bad, this was the last shot so he was already crying. It is hard to watch your little one feel pain. On the bright side, he won't remember the experience and is now on the way to being fully vaccinated against some pretty nasty diseases.

Two Month Stats
Height: 25 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 12 lbs 4 oz (60th percentile)
Head Circumference: 42 cm (90th percentile)

He's tall, has a slightly big head (fortunately it's proportionate), and has a good weight!

Spencer Time

A few recent pictures of Spencer. He is growing like crazy and picking up all sorts of new skills like grabbing toys on the playmat, grabbing blankets or clothes and shoving them in his mouth, and his new favorite pastime, putting his feet in his mouth (with or without socks!).     Learning all the tricks on his first flight. We lucked out and got an extra seat for his carseat (ok, I lucked out, but still...)  Sleepy times with Grandma    Enjoying a new toy!   Such a big boy

Called up

This weekend, the t-ball team was short a few players. Spencer was called up from the practice team to fill in. He was one of the smallest on the field, but played well, even teaming up with Jack for an out!

Growing up

Jack and Spence "graduated" from their respective preschool programs in the last couple of weeks. While the road along the way wasn't always the smoothest, the outcome couldn't be better. At Spencer's 2s club event, the kids demonstrated all the new skills they had learned in the gym. Lots of forward rolls, big jumps on the trampoline, and amazing core strength. The kids then enjoyed their favorite book of the year: mean soup. Afterward each child received an award. Spencer followed Jack's footsteps on this part by refusing to go up to accept the award. Regardless, we were so proud of Spence. He loved having his independence, being involved in a class, making new friends, and just having fun. Next year Spence starts preschool at the Y. Jack's tender care graduation was last friday. The event was held in the Little Theater at the Y. Jack was so excited to be on the stage. The class sang several songs ending with what has to be the anthem of kids 3...
