9th Anniversary

On Wednesday, July 13th, Justin and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. Remember when we looked like this?

What's happened in the last nine years? Well, a few things.

  • Moved twice
  • Discussed where we wanted to live for about a million hours
  • Sold one house and bought two houses together
  • Adopted one of the greatest cats ever (Beacon) and then said a painful, early goodbye
  • Adopted the neediest cat ever (Syd) and a friend for him (Mel)
  • Started six new jobs
  • Bought one car
  • Lived overseas
  • Earned and then (fortunately) lost platinum status with Delta
  • Received one MBA
  • Drank countless bottles of wine
  • Introduced the sport of chair surfing (ask Matt and Dan for details)
  • Made many, many great friends
  • Said goodbye to several loved ones and friends
  • Most importantly, had two wonderful little boys
What will the next nine years present? Who knows, but it will definitely be interesting!!

Spencer Time

A few recent pictures of Spencer. He is growing like crazy and picking up all sorts of new skills like grabbing toys on the playmat, grabbing blankets or clothes and shoving them in his mouth, and his new favorite pastime, putting his feet in his mouth (with or without socks!).     Learning all the tricks on his first flight. We lucked out and got an extra seat for his carseat (ok, I lucked out, but still...)  Sleepy times with Grandma    Enjoying a new toy!   Such a big boy

Called up

This weekend, the t-ball team was short a few players. Spencer was called up from the practice team to fill in. He was one of the smallest on the field, but played well, even teaming up with Jack for an out!

Growing up

Jack and Spence "graduated" from their respective preschool programs in the last couple of weeks. While the road along the way wasn't always the smoothest, the outcome couldn't be better. At Spencer's 2s club event, the kids demonstrated all the new skills they had learned in the gym. Lots of forward rolls, big jumps on the trampoline, and amazing core strength. The kids then enjoyed their favorite book of the year: mean soup. Afterward each child received an award. Spencer followed Jack's footsteps on this part by refusing to go up to accept the award. Regardless, we were so proud of Spence. He loved having his independence, being involved in a class, making new friends, and just having fun. Next year Spence starts preschool at the Y. Jack's tender care graduation was last friday. The event was held in the Little Theater at the Y. Jack was so excited to be on the stage. The class sang several songs ending with what has to be the anthem of kids 3...
