Spence is 9 months!!

I can't believe that it's already been 9 months. This time is flying by. As you may have seen from previous posts, Spence is growing growing growing and picking up all sorts of new skills. It's amazing how quickly he learns new things. Last week, he was starting to pull himself up to standing, but usually needed help to get all the way up to his feet. Well, this week, he's getting up to his feet in his crib, in front of the tv and sofa, on some toys, and his favorite, on my legs. His legs are already so much stronger - I wish I gained muscle like this (of course, if I worked my muscles as much as he does, I probably would...hmm something to think about separately...). Anyway, now he's starting to cruise which is walking along while holding on to something. More surprising, he's reaching for objects that are out of arms length. He's definitely thinking, "ok, how to get there without having to drop to the ground". My bet is that he's walking in the next two months...YIKES!

Pictures from today are below.

Flashing those beautiful blue eyes

Showing off new skills in his crib

Yay - getting more use out of those rail covers and I bet it feels good on those itchy gums. Come on next teeth, where are you!

Another sweet shot in the crib

Standing strong. Now to keep him from chewing on the entertainment center.

School Projects

Jack has a school project due this Friday. The project is to visit a specific historic landmark in the city and then put together a write-up about the visit and place. Jack's location is Hamilton Grange which was the country home of Alexander Hamilton. We visited a few weeks ago (yep, we've have the assignment this long). Finally, Jack started putting together the project today. OMG, it was like watching me from 30 years ago. There was denial and defensiveness, then came tears and finally he produced really good work. If this is what the next 15 years are going to be like, we are in trouble. Also - sorry Mom, I know I tortured you with this experience many many times.
