Dance Party

In our former life (pre-kids), we were known to enjoy a few home grown dance parties. These events generally started at the Torero when someone (Justin) would utter the infamous words "it's a two margarita night". Things would usually go downhill from there, resulting in rowdy dancing to a very loud mix of hip-hop, top 40, disco, and of course 80s hair-band music. The night would eventually conclude with some disaster, like losing the battery to my camera... Well, tonight, we needed a little boost to the MacFarlane family morale. For whatever reason, the words "jitterbug" popped into my head (as in ba-dum-dum, Jitterbug - the start to Wham's Wake me up before you go-go). And then the dancing started - well, I started jumping and dancing around the room while my two little boys, sitting in their respective highchairs, watched on in amazement. Once they were cleaned up from dinner and out of their chairs, we all boogied to a great selection of 80s hits (than

Boys in a Box

As you can probably guess, this didn't last much longer than it took to take the picture.

New Googles!

I suppose I should clarify the title of this one. Jack is calling these his Googles and it's too cute to worry about correcting right now! :)

Yum yum

This evening while reading stories before bed, Jack seemed to be chewing something. I asked him what he was eating and here's what he said: "something new momma. From dinner." Cracked us up!

Back to the Sprinklers

Last summer, Jack discovered the wonder of sprinklers at the local parks. He went almost everyday and played, played, played in the freezing cold water. Well, we're back at it again this year. It's interesting. Last year, he was one of the smaller kids and I was generally worried that we would be trampled by bigger kids. This year, he's much bigger and now I worry that he'll trample the little ones (like Spence). Spence doesn't really know what to think. He's interested in the water, but does not like that it is freezing cold. We'll see where things stand at the end of the summer. One thing is for sure - it's much harder to watch two little ones running around than one! A few pictures of a recent playground trip.
