Dance Party

In our former life (pre-kids), we were known to enjoy a few home grown dance parties. These events generally started at the Torero when someone (Justin) would utter the infamous words "it's a two margarita night". Things would usually go downhill from there, resulting in rowdy dancing to a very loud mix of hip-hop, top 40, disco, and of course 80s hair-band music. The night would eventually conclude with some disaster, like losing the battery to my camera...

Well, tonight, we needed a little boost to the MacFarlane family morale. For whatever reason, the words "jitterbug" popped into my head (as in ba-dum-dum, Jitterbug - the start to Wham's Wake me up before you go-go). And then the dancing started - well, I started jumping and dancing around the room while my two little boys, sitting in their respective highchairs, watched on in amazement. Once they were cleaned up from dinner and out of their chairs, we all boogied to a great selection of 80s hits (thank you again Pandora!). We'll have to make dance party a part of every weekend!

Spencer Time

A few recent pictures of Spencer. He is growing like crazy and picking up all sorts of new skills like grabbing toys on the playmat, grabbing blankets or clothes and shoving them in his mouth, and his new favorite pastime, putting his feet in his mouth (with or without socks!).     Learning all the tricks on his first flight. We lucked out and got an extra seat for his carseat (ok, I lucked out, but still...)  Sleepy times with Grandma    Enjoying a new toy!   Such a big boy

Called up

This weekend, the t-ball team was short a few players. Spencer was called up from the practice team to fill in. He was one of the smallest on the field, but played well, even teaming up with Jack for an out!

Growing up

Jack and Spence "graduated" from their respective preschool programs in the last couple of weeks. While the road along the way wasn't always the smoothest, the outcome couldn't be better. At Spencer's 2s club event, the kids demonstrated all the new skills they had learned in the gym. Lots of forward rolls, big jumps on the trampoline, and amazing core strength. The kids then enjoyed their favorite book of the year: mean soup. Afterward each child received an award. Spencer followed Jack's footsteps on this part by refusing to go up to accept the award. Regardless, we were so proud of Spence. He loved having his independence, being involved in a class, making new friends, and just having fun. Next year Spence starts preschool at the Y. Jack's tender care graduation was last friday. The event was held in the Little Theater at the Y. Jack was so excited to be on the stage. The class sang several songs ending with what has to be the anthem of kids 3...
