Stepping Up

Jack's PreK-3 class had their end of year celebration last Thursday, June 13th. It is called the Stepping Up ceremony. Parents came to the classroom and watch the kids go through their morning routine. Then they performed a few special songs. It was adorable. Jack was so proud to show all that he learned.

From the time that we arrived at class, Jack wanted to give Ms. Emily, his teacher, a hug. Finally, as we were about to leave we had our chance. He was nervous, but then ran to her for a great big hug. He liked her so much!

We are so proud of Jack. He really blossomed at pre-school. Looking forward to what next year brings!

All sorts of great things from the day:
Morning prayer

Calendar - counting days of the week

Weather - it was raining

Excited about his gift and certificate

Finally, the big hug

Jack loves Ms. Emily!

Spencer Time

A few recent pictures of Spencer. He is growing like crazy and picking up all sorts of new skills like grabbing toys on the playmat, grabbing blankets or clothes and shoving them in his mouth, and his new favorite pastime, putting his feet in his mouth (with or without socks!).     Learning all the tricks on his first flight. We lucked out and got an extra seat for his carseat (ok, I lucked out, but still...)  Sleepy times with Grandma    Enjoying a new toy!   Such a big boy

Called up

This weekend, the t-ball team was short a few players. Spencer was called up from the practice team to fill in. He was one of the smallest on the field, but played well, even teaming up with Jack for an out!

Veritable Dutch Wonderland

Mother's Day weekend, we planned a little trip out of NYC. We headed to Lancaster, PA - close enough for a night away, but far enough away to feel very different than NYC. The weekend was a lot of fun (and honestly a lot of work). All in all, the boys did well. Highlights below: Dutch Wonderland Lancaster is home to several tourist things. We picked one: Dutch Wonderland family amusement park. My cynical self really doubted that we'd enjoy this experience. I was worried that it would be cheesy. But I was wrong. Well yes, it was kind of cheesy because it was a family amusement park. But it was so fun. The place was very geared to families with young children. The rides are categorized by height so it's easy to know what rides your kids can ride. Jack tried several rides: big trucks, bulldozers, leaping frogs, the monorail. He even drove a car! He had a really good time. Spence was a good sport as there wasn't much for him to do. Maybe next year. Justin felt right ...
