The Clydesdales

One neat thing about NYC is that you never know what you'll see out and about. Yesterday morning, Jack and I found the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales on W. 67th St. They were waiting to be part of the Kelly & Michael show that is filmed there. This is one of the situations where I think I was more excited than Jack.

Tonight's negotiation

Tonight, I was cooking chicken nuggets for the boys. It has been a while since we had these in the house and I wasn't sure how many to cook for each of them. I asked Jack how many nuggets he'd want. His response was classic. He started by explaining that he had had this same discussion with Christine. The outcome of that discussion was that he would need eight nuggets. Well, these are kind of big nuggets and eight would be a lot. My response was, ok, how about four. Jack quickly responded in a very matter of fact tone, "ok then, four it is".

The packing has begun

Christmas Trees

Given the number of very dry pine trees on the curb, many New Yorkers wait a long time to take down their Christmas decorations. The plus side of this procrastination is that the streets of New York have had a lovely pine scent for the last couple of weeks...too bad it doesn't stick around until summer and all those lovely "aromas". photo credit: myupperwest.com
