Next vacation

Yesterday, Jack stated that he knew where we should go on our next vacation: Germany. He's been enthralled with Germany (mainly the German flag) since the World Cup (when he was actually devastated that Germany beat Argentina, but who's counting...)

Justin and I mentioned the few places we've been: Dusseldorf, Heidelberg, and Frankfurt.

Jack then said that he knows another Frankfurt. We're stumped so we asked where and he said Kentucky. That Frankfort is the capital of Kentucky.

Now, I'm good with trivia but I've always been terrible at state capitals. This one blew me away.
We quizzed him a bit and discovered that he doesn't know all of them but to know even a few at the beginning of Kindergarten seems like a pretty good start.

Now to start planning that trip to Germany...

School Projects

Jack has a school project due this Friday. The project is to visit a specific historic landmark in the city and then put together a write-up about the visit and place. Jack's location is Hamilton Grange which was the country home of Alexander Hamilton. We visited a few weeks ago (yep, we've have the assignment this long). Finally, Jack started putting together the project today. OMG, it was like watching me from 30 years ago. There was denial and defensiveness, then came tears and finally he produced really good work. If this is what the next 15 years are going to be like, we are in trouble. Also - sorry Mom, I know I tortured you with this experience many many times.
