Being green

This evening, Jack came into our room to ask us something. He looked a little peakish, so I said, "do you feel ok? You look a little green." Then I left to address what Jack had originally asked. Justin followed up by asking him if he felt ok. Jack said the he felt fine, but that he was going to look in the mirror to see if he was actually green. Oh such a literal life.

Spence is 4!

It was three months ago, but we're still excited that Spence turned 4!! He's growing up so so fast. We celebrated his birthday with loads of friends at an action packed party. The only time the kids stopped moving was to have cake and even that was short lived. It was a great party for a special boy!

Summer of Sports

Where have we been all summer? Most likely at a sporting event. Lots to share from this summer - most good, some sad. I'm starting with a round up of sporting events. May 23rd: Somerset Patriots vs. York Revolution Single A Baseball York, PA This game kicked off the summer of baseball and really collecting baseballs. After a small snafu of buying tickets for the wrong game, we enjoyed a fun, cool night of minor league ball. May 30th: NYCFC vs. Houston Dynamo MLS Yankee Stadium, NYC June 10: Washington Nationals vs. NY Yankees MLS Yankee Stadium, NYC Boys Wednesday afternoon outing. Finally made it to the game in time to visit monument park. Fun Fact: Thurman Munson was Justin's favorite Yankee growing up and why Justin always chooses #15. June 13: NYCFC vs. Montreal Impact MLS Yankee Stadium, NYC Big win for NYCFC! Also the first time that football hooligans joined the crowd. Our seats are near the visiting teams fan section. The 20...

Called up

This weekend, the t-ball team was short a few players. Spencer was called up from the practice team to fill in. He was one of the smallest on the field, but played well, even teaming up with Jack for an out!

Officially a Sports Family

Sometime late last summer, the sports gene kicked in for Jack and Spence. They went from mildly interested to rabid sports fans in a matter of days. The World Cup and MLB All-Star game definitely helped. Otherwise, the transition was fast. Suddenly Jack could spew all sorts of sports stats (from that season) and was desperate to watch all baseball and football. Well, we've now moved on from being spectators. Jack started little league t-ball a couple of weekends ago. The team is called the Royals and is made up of 10, 5 year olds. They play Sunday morning in Morningside Park under the watch of the amazing cathedral St. John the Divine. Justin jumped in too, taking on head coaching responsibilities as well as being the assistant director for the league. It's really a family affair. The big event the first weekend was handing out uniforms. Jack wore his (shocker, he's #2). So when the other kids got theirs, they immediately changed to match. They were so excited! Then ...
